Jeroen Bronkhorst is founder of the Wine Studio and a driving force behind wine education in the Netherlands. He combines his experience as a chef and restaurateur with a deep-rooted interest and enjoyment in wine. Crowned with awards such as Best Wine List of the Netherlands and Best House Wine, he sets the bar high in everything he undertakes. He is a Certified Educator in Port, Sherry and Madeira. Educated in agriculture and horticulture, he enjoys talking about terroir, wine style and history.

Jeroen knows better than anyone how to take people into the world behind the label. He has organized over 50 educational wine tours, and his greatest sources of inspiration are conversations with winemakers. About the land, the soil, the climate and the grapes. But also the history of the region, the family history, the winemaker’s vision, and how a special wine is created. Those stories form his motto: “wine is culture in your glass. Jeroen wrote the books “Basic Wine,” “Wine & Food,” and “Madeira Wine Today,” in which he brings together theory with practical insights, facts and interesting trivia.

He produced more than 60 podcast episodes under the name “Wine Studio,” which have now been listened to more than half a million times. In conversation, Jeroen is sharp, inviting and always focused on depth. He explains without oversimplifying and listens with a professional’s ear.
